Reverend Lloyd E. McLaughlin was born on February 1, 1962 in St. Mary, Jamaica to Ruby Pryce and Leroy McLaughlin. The oldest of 10 children, Lloyd, affectionately called “Ren,” was known in his community for his athletic abilities. He dreamed of one day playing professional cricket for Jamaica and the West Indies. However, God had other plans for his life and gifts that were hidden deep inside him until he was saved on December 17, 1979. With a newfound enthusiasm for the things of the Lord he wasted no time in having his baptism on January 29, 1980. At his newfound “home” The Port Maria Evangelistic Center, he sang with the choir, headed the drama ministry and became the Superintendent of the Sunday School. He also lead and assisted in any other area of ministry when called upon, including the Prison visitation ministry. It was while wholeheartedly serving in the church that he met his beautiful wife Daphne Anderson, who was also actively involved in the church’s various ministries. They were married on June 4, 1983, and the union produced a daughter, Kimberlin. Realizing his gift of leadership and zeal for winning souls for the Kingdom, he was encouraged to attend Theology school. He served as the Student Body President at Caribbean Christ for the Nations, and was awarded an Associates Diploma in Theology in 1989. Lloyd pastored the Harvest Hill Full Gospel Church in St. Thomas, from 1990 to 1992. During this time, he was a strict but humorous and well loved teacher of the third (3rd) grade at the Harvest Hill Christian Prep School. He was Associate Pastor at Family Church on the Rock in Kingston Jamaica, from 1992 to 1996, where he worked under the leadership of Pastor David Keane. He also won many souls as the head of the New Converts ministry. No inner city community in Kingston was off limits to Pastor Lloyd’s ministry. In 1996, after seeking the Lord’s direction, he moved to Manchester, Jamaica to work with Faith Assembly Ministries International Inc. While there, he pastored the Salmon Town, Mandeville, St. Paul and Montego Bay branches. He was also the director and a tutor at The Ebenezer Bible Institute. He was responsible for a thriving youth ministry through sports and annual Fun days and sports days. From 2008 to 2015, he was the Associate Pastor at Rock of Holiness Ministry and the Director of the church’s school of Theology. Determined to continue to educate himself in the teachings of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, in July 2011, he attained a Master’s of Theology, majoring in Christian Education from the International Theological Seminary of California. After asking for God’s direction, The Reconciled Family In Christ Ministry came to fruition on February 14, 2015. The first service drew a modest gathering of 10. The church now has a membership of over 60 plus many regular visitors. Currently, Rev. McLaughlin resides in Brooklyn with his lovely wife of 40 years. He enjoys taking walks, watching sports, and reading his Bible every night before bed.
